Neurun, a company specializing in spatially aware digital platforms, has developed the NYNJ World Cup Concierge, a centralized digital guide designed to help fans navigate the New York and New Jersey region during the 2026 World Cup. The tool addresses the logistical challenges of hosting over a million fans from more than 200 countries, providing a reliable source of information for navigating an unfamiliar area, finding local events, and accessing transit options.
The Concierge leverages Google Maps Platform and Gemini from Google Cloud to offer an immersive 3D map interface that responds to user queries in over 60 languages. By integrating these technologies, Neurun ensures that fans can ask questions naturally and receive accurate, up-to-date information. The system was built in collaboration with the Google Cloud Startups team and Searce, a Google Cloud partner, and was completed in just seven months.
During the tournament, the Concierge engaged over 100,000 unique users, with 30% of questions focused on discovering free fan events and 23% on transit information. The tool not only improved the fan experience but also drove local economic impact by steering visitors to neighborhood programming and events. The success of the Concierge has led to its continued use for other major events in New York City, and Neurun plans to expand the model globally.
Neurun is also collaborating with Waze for Cities to ensure real-time updates on event road closures, further enhancing the infrastructure for future mega-events. The NYNJ World Cup Concierge demonstrates how verified AI guides can transform the way fans experience large-scale events, ensuring they never feel lost in the crowd.
