New Jersey Man Accused of Selling Stolen Excavator on Facebook Marketplace
A New Jersey man has been accused of selling a stolen excavator on Facebook Marketplace. The Kubota U17 mini excavator was rented from a Home Depot in Delaware and never returned, according to authorities.
On July 15, the Fairfield police received a report that the heavy machinery was being tracked via GPS to the area. They responded to Plog Road and found the excavator in the side yard of a residence.
The resident told officers that he bought the vehicle through Facebook Marketplace from someone who claimed it was for sale. After reviewing photographs, electronic communications, transaction information, and video footage, police assembled a photo array, which led to the identification of the suspect: Raymond Iddeen of Millville.
Iddeen was charged with receiving stolen property and fencing on Tuesday, police said.
