Niemann Leaps to Lead at Amgen Irish Open with Impressive First Round

LIV Golf star Joaquin Niemann has taken the lead at the Amgen Irish Open, shooting a 65 in the first round. The Chilean golfer has had success on both the PGA Tour and with LIV Golf, including two victories during the LIV Golf season.

Niemann attributes his strong finish to refocusing after a bogey on the 13th hole, saying 'That bogey on 13, it was a pretty bad bogey and felt like that kind of helped me to kind of get back into the present.'

The Amgen Irish Open is being held at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg, Ireland. Niemann's performance puts him in contention for a top spot on the Official World Golf Ranking, where he currently sits at No. 42.
