Nigeria is setting its sights on achieving an investment-grade credit rating and re-entering JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s key emerging-market government bond index. Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele highlighted these goals as part of the country’s broader strategy to attract more investment and strengthen its capital markets.
The government is also collaborating with MSCI Inc. to include Nigerian equities in its indexes. Oyedele shared these plans during an event where the Securities and Exchange Commission introduced a 10-year capital-markets roadmap on Monday.
