Nike Dividend Payment Offers Some Relief Amid Stock Price Decline
Nike is scheduled to pay its quarterly dividend next week, offering some relief to shareholders despite the company's struggling performance. The dividend was declared on August 6 and will be paid out on October 1.
The annual yield for Nike's stock stands at 4.62%, with the quarterly dividend amounting to $0.41 per share. This means that owning 100 shares of Nike (NKE) will yield $41, a significant return considering the company's recent struggles.
Nike's CEO, Travis Knight, and co-founder Phil Knight are among those who stand to benefit from the dividend payment. Travis Knight is expected to receive around $7.8 million on his 19 million shares, while Phil Knight will receive approximately $5.25 million for his 12.8 million NKE shares.
Nike's stock price has been in decline since reaching its highs in late 2021, crashing by over 80% to its current level of around $35.51 per share. The company is facing multiple headwinds, including a transition towards direct-to-consumer sales and increased competition from other brands.
