Microsoft Surface devices have been made available in South Africa through Core Group, which has been named the exclusive distributor for the tech giant's hardware. The company hosted an event to mark the launch of new Surface devices with Intel and Qualcomm processors.

In a recent interview, John Press, business unit head for Microsoft Surface at Core Group, stated that while there is always a possibility, there are currently no plans to establish a brick-and-mortar store for Microsoft Surface in SA. Instead, the distributor's focus will be on providing its partners and retailers with access to necessary stock and reducing the window between global announcements and local availability.

Core Group's exclusive distributor status means that it is now the one-stop destination for all things Surface-related, including software, accessories, and warranty support. Press emphasized the importance of making Surface more visible in retail environments and continuing to support the B2B channel.
