A North East couple has been charged in connection with a string of shoplifting incidents across Delaware.

Matthew Osborne, 37, and Haley Barton, 25, were arrested on July 29 and are awaiting extradition to face charges related to thefts from stores in the Newark area.

The spree began on June 29 when they allegedly stole $800 worth of power tools from Home Depot. Customers recorded the incident, causing Barton to abandon most of the stolen merchandise before the pair fled.

Throughout July, Osborne and Barton committed similar shoplifting incidents at multiple stores, including ShopRite, Lowe's, Cabela's, and another ShopRite location.
