Nvidia Aims for Double Chip Sales Amid Booming AI Demand
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has predicted that his company will double its chip sales next year due to growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) across various industries. Speaking at a summit with King Charles III in Scotland, Huang stated that Nvidia expects to sell twice as many chips in the upcoming year compared to this year.
The reason behind this forecast is the increasing adoption of AI globally, with numerous countries investing heavily in the technology. This trend is evident across various sectors, and Huang believes it will continue to drive growth for Nvidia in the coming quarters.
Nvidia had previously reported a 70% growth in its fiscal year ending January 2028, with revenue expected to reach around $673B. The company's data center graphics processing units (GPUs), such as the Blackwell and Rubin chips, have seen significant demand in recent quarters. In fact, Nvidia shipped 6 million Blackwell GPUs in just four quarters last fall.
Huang emphasized the importance of AI safety, stating that products should be held back if they are not safe to use. He was joined by representatives from prominent AI companies, including Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic, at the summit where AI safety was a key topic for discussion.
