Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang made headlines on September 18, 2026, when he announced that his company expects to double its chip sales next year. This prediction comes as a result of strong demand for artificial intelligence across various industries and economies.

Huang stated, 'I expect Nvidia to sell twice as many chips next year as we do this year,' citing the widespread adoption of AI. The forecast indicates continued rapid expansion at the semiconductor giant over the coming six quarters.

Nvidia recently projected revenue growth of 70% for the fiscal year ending in January 2028, which could bring its annual revenue to approximately $673 billion. The company's best-known products are data center graphics processing units, including the Blackwell and Rubin chips, which power the development and operation of advanced AI systems.

Huang also discussed AI safety during a summit with King Charles III in Scotland, alongside representatives from Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic. He emphasized the importance of holding back products that are not safe until they can be further engineered.
