Nvidia Approves Record $150B Share Buyback Increase
Nvidia's board of directors has approved a significant increase to its share repurchase program. The company is expanding its authorization by $150 billion, bringing the remaining total to $235 billion.
This represents roughly 4% of Nvidia's recent market value of $5.4 trillion and marks the largest buyback increase in the company's history.
Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, stated that the company's cash generation gives it 'the capacity to invest in the technologies that advance this transformation and return capital to shareholders.'
The repurchase program is expected to be executed through fiscal 2028. If spread evenly over the roughly 16 months until January 2028, it would amount to about $15 billion in potential repurchases per month.
Nvidia's recent quarterly revenue reached $81.61 billion, an 85% increase from a year earlier, and generated $48.55 billion in free cash flow.
