Nvidia-Backed Lambda Secures $35B Cloud Deal with AI Giant Anthropic
Anthropic, a leading AI developer, has secured a massive $35 billion cloud-computing agreement with Lambda, an Nvidia-backed provider of AI infrastructure. The deal will provide computing capacity from a data center under development in Nueces County, Texas.
The agreement, which represents 350MW of capacity, is part of Anthropic's broader push to diversify its infrastructure needs for training and running its Claude AI model. Anthropic already relies on Amazon's Trainium chips, Google's TPUs, and Nvidia GPUs.
Nvidia will provide the chips powering the Texas facility, developed by Hut 8, while also holding the lease on the underlying data center. This deal places Nvidia across several layers of the transaction, with the company providing both hardware and financing for the project.
