Nvidia Buys Hugging Face for 13 Billion in Bet on AI Models

Nvidia is buying Hugging Face for $13 billion in a bet on open AI models.

OpenAI, which created ChatGPT, released its newest and most powerful AI model, Astra, to select customers with built-in safeguards to mitigate security risks.

OpenAI President Greg Brockman said 'safety has to become our top priority' at this level of capability. The company paused some model development for two weeks after a security breach involving its models on the Hugging Face platform.
