Nvidia Dominates Data Center Segment with Record-Breaking Revenue

Nvidia's dominance in the data center segment continues to grow, with its Q1 FY2027 results showing $75.2 billion in revenue, a 92 percent increase from the same quarter last year.

This is more than 13 times the $5.8 billion reported by AMD in the same category.

Jensen Huang attributed this growth to the high demand for Blackwell-generation GPUs, stating 'Blackwell sales are off the charts, and cloud GPUs are sold out.'

AMD's data center revenue did increase 57 percent year-over-year, but its base is significantly smaller than Nvidia's.

Lisa Su stated that while competition in AI chips may seem intense, there will be multiple winners in this market, as hyperscalers tend to avoid single-vendor dependency for critical infrastructure layers.
