Nvidia Dominates SpaceX as AI Investment of Choice
Nvidia and SpaceX are two of the fastest-growing companies in the AI realm, but which one makes for a better investment? Nvidia's revenue growth has been impressive, with a 106% year-over-year increase in Q2. In contrast, SpaceX's companywide growth figure was 92%, although its Q2 revenue totaled only $7.8 billion compared to Nvidia's $96 billion.
Despite the size difference, Nvidia is still at the top of the AI food chain. Elon Musk has stated that SpaceX will exclusively deploy Nvidia hardware going forward, citing the company's Vera Rubin architecture as the best in AI computing. This partnership shows Nvidia's dominance in the field and its ability to deliver strong returns.
Nvidia's profit margin is also unparalleled, with a 62% margin in Q2. In contrast, SpaceX was unprofitable in Q2 but projects a 45% profit margin once fully mature. With Nvidia's revenue figure over 12 times larger than SpaceX's, it's clear that the company has plenty of growth left.
While SpaceX is an AI investment and belongs in the conversation about top AI businesses, its valuation is a concern. The company trades for just shy of $2 trillion, which could lead to issues providing strong returns as it needs to grow into its valuation. In contrast, Nvidia has a market cap of $5.4 trillion but still offers plenty of growth potential.
