Nvidia Expands DLSS 5 Support to RTX 4000 GPUs
Nvidia has announced that its DLSS 5 technology will be available on RTX 4000 GPUs, in addition to the previously exclusive RTX 5000 series. This means that owners of high-end graphics cards from the previous generation can now enjoy photorealistic effects without needing any mods.
The company made this announcement after some Reddit posts complained that Nvidia was 'artificially locking' DLSS 5 to the RTX 5000 series. However, it's worth noting that the performance tax for using DLSS 5 remains steep, with a 50% to 60% hit on frame rates.
Nvidia's forum post also mentioned that teams are working to integrate the graphics technology into other games, starting with NBA 2K27, which is currently the only game that supports DLSS 5. The company plans to optimize performance for the GeForce RTX 50 Series later this fall and then expand official support to the GeForce RTX 40 Series.
For Middle East gamers, this news means that they won't need to buy a brand-new GPU just to experience Nvidia's latest rendering tech. Local rigs equipped with high-end cards will soon be ready to handle the demanding workloads without requiring unofficial mods.
