Nvidia has announced that its DLSS 5 AI rendering tech will be extended to older GPUs, following the success of modded versions that enabled wider availability. Initially, DLSS 5 was intended for 50-series RTX GPUs and NBA 2K27, but modders were able to port a leaked version to work on other GPUs.

Nvidia spokesperson Rajal Maharaj confirmed that DLSS 5 will be available on older RTX 40-series GPUs in the future. However, unlike the modded versions, the official release will not include granular controls for gamers, but rather a simple toggle switch.
