Nvidia Lands Massive $13 Billion Deal for Hugging Face
Nvidia has agreed to acquire AI developer platform Hugging Face in a $12.93 billion deal, significantly expanding its reach beyond chips into the open AI ecosystem.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
Hugging Face's co-founders Clément Delangue, Julien Chaumond, and Thomas Wolf will become billionaires with an estimated net worth of around $1.8 billion each, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The platform has become a central marketplace and community for open AI, serving more than 18 million developers and over 200,000 companies, hosting three million models, 500,000 datasets, and one million applications.
