Nvidia Launches Israel-Based AI Research Group for Medical Breakthroughs

Nvidia has established an Israeli research group focused on using artificial intelligence to accelerate medical and scientific breakthroughs. The group, called Applied AI Architecture, is based at Nvidia's Israeli development center and operates within the company's global CTO office.

The group currently employs several researchers in Israel, with plans to recruit dozens more over the coming year. It is being headed by Dr. Nati Daniel, who holds a PhD in artificial intelligence from the Technion and previously held senior positions at Intel, GE, and Huawei.

The group's long-term goal is to use AI not simply to automate existing processes, but to accelerate the pace of scientific and medical discovery. They are working on projects such as developing a Genomic Foundation Model (gFM) in collaboration with Sheba Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
