Nvidia Leads Under-Owned Tech Stocks Amid AI Infrastructure Boom
Morgan Stanley has found that Nvidia is the most under-owned mega-cap tech stock among institutional investors. According to their report, Nvidia's S&P 500 allocation and active fund ownership have a shortfall of 2.57%. This is based on an analysis of fourth-quarter 13F filings.
Other large-cap tech stocks such as Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon.com also lag in terms of ownership, with gaps of 2.16%, 2.13%, and 1.37% respectively. Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring stated that Nvidia 'remains the most under-owned large-cap tech stock.'
The firm noted that ownership of large-cap tech has fallen to its lowest point in 17 years, with a gap against the S&P 500 benchmark widening to -155 basis points by quarter-end.
