Nvidia RTX 6000 Series Delayed Until 2028 Amid Memory Crisis

Renowned GPU leaker kopite7kimi has joined fellow leaker Kepler_L2 in predicting that Nvidia's RTX 6000 series may not arrive until 2028. The latest delay is attributed to the ongoing memory crisis, which has led to skyrocketing component prices and AI demand taking priority.

Kopite7kimi initially predicted a release in the second half of 2027 for the Rubin-based GeForce RTX 6000 series cards but now believes Nvidia is pushing that back even further. The gap between generational launches would be 3 years and 5 months to 3 years and 11 months, significantly longer than the average 26 months.

The memory crisis has also led to reports of the RTX 5000 Super series being held back by expensive 3GB GDDR7 modules. Gamers hope that the industry will settle down by late 2028, making the new cards more accessible. However, some firms believe things may get worse next year with the crunch continuing until 2030.
