Nvidia RTX Spark PCs Arrive in October with AI and Gaming Focus
Nvidia's upcoming RTX Spark-powered Windows PCs are set to launch in October, with Microsoft hosting an event on October 7 to showcase an RTX-powered Surface device. Introduced in May, RTX Spark is designed to power a new generation of Windows laptops and compact desktops optimized for AI, gaming, and content creation. The platform combines a Blackwell GPU, a 20-core Grace CPU, and up to 128GB of unified memory, allowing both components to share memory resources for enhanced performance.
Nvidia highlights AI agents as a key use case for RTX Spark, enabling 'always-on' agents that operate in the background. The platform is paired with Microsoft's Windows Agent framework, ensuring these agents remain under system-level control. For creators, RTX Spark supports rendering large 3D scenes, editing high-resolution video, and generating AI videos locally. The platform also boasts compatibility with professional content-creation applications and AI-assisted workflows.
Six manufacturers, including Microsoft, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and MSI, are preparing RTX Spark systems for October, with Acer and Gigabyte expected to introduce devices later. At IFA 2026, Acer showcased a compact desktop concept, while Lenovo announced the Yoga Pro 9n and Yoga 9n 2-in-1. Nvidia emphasizes the platform's versatility across various PC form factors, from thin laptops to compact desktops.
RTX Spark is also positioned for gaming, with support from publishers like Electronic Arts, Embark, and Ubisoft. Nvidia claims the platform can run AAA games at 1440p resolution with high frame rates, leveraging technologies like ray tracing, DLSS, and Reflex. Microsoft has optimized Windows for RTX Spark, improving workload scheduling, power management, and unified-memory systems. The company also confirmed that its Prism emulator will be available on RTX Spark systems, ensuring compatibility with x86 applications.
