Nvidia Seeks Global Ties for Vietnam's AI Ecosystem
Nvidia has proposed linking Vietnam's AI ecosystem to global markets, building on existing cooperation between the tech giant and the Vietnamese government. The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan and Vikram Rao, vice president at Nvidia's ASEAN Enterprise.
Nvidia currently works with several Vietnamese businesses, including FPT, Viettel, and GreenNode, on developing AI infrastructure and capabilities. The company has proposed four key areas of cooperation: connecting Vietnam's AI ecosystem to the global ecosystem; large language models; computing infrastructure; and AI talent, startups, research, and education.
In the area of language models, Nvidia proposes working with Vietnam to develop a large language model that Vietnam would control. The company is developing open-source models, including Nemotron, while providing tools, data, and solutions to help countries develop models tailored to their own needs.
Nvidia also proposed expanding its Deep Learning Institute programs in Vietnam, aiming to roll them out nationwide and integrate them more deeply into training programs. The company sees Vietnam as one of ASEAN's dynamic startup markets and wants to strengthen cooperation and support Vietnamese AI startups.
