Nvidia Soars as Dow Tumbles Amid Higher Oil Prices
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 336 points to 51,492.19 in early trading on Monday as higher oil prices and Treasury yields put pressure on stocks.
Nvidia bucked this trend, jumping more than 3% after announcing a record-breaking share buyback authorization of $150 billion.
The S&P 500 slipped by 0.50% to 7,704.53, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.51% to 26,931.86.
Brent crude traded at $106.79 a barrel, up over 2%, and West Texas Intermediate rose about 2% to $94.40, following President Donald Trump's rejection of Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
