Nvidia Stock Dips Ahead of Q2 Earnings Amid Extreme Expectations
Nvidia's highly anticipated second-quarter earnings are set to release after Wednesday's closing bell, and investors are on edge as expectations for nearly doubled revenue weigh heavily against concerns over massive infrastructure commitments, financing exposure, and the risk of disappointment.
The company is expected to report approximately $91.9 billion in revenue and earnings of $2.08 per share, representing year-over-year growth of roughly 97%, which slightly exceeds Nvidia's guidance of $91 billion, plus or minus 2%.
However, with the stock trading near $213 ahead of the report and having previously reached record highs above $236, investors are increasingly cautious about whether another strong earnings report will be enough to justify the company's enormous valuation.
Nvidia's growing exposure to infrastructure financing has also raised concerns among investors. The company's estimated AI-related credit exposure could approach $200 billion by 2028, and its relatively low reported leverage may not fully reflect the financial risks associated with its expanding ecosystem.
