Nvidia Stock Hits Record High but Faces Financing Concerns
Nvidia's stock price reached a new record high of $237 on October 2, 2026, but failed to extend its rally immediately. The company's shares have been climbing steadily after months of volatility and have now established a new resistance zone at around $236.
The move above $237 marks a significant change from Nvidia's earlier weakness around the $136 area, where the stock repeatedly failed to establish a sustained breakout. However, the inability to extend gains after reaching the record high leaves investors watching whether buyers can maintain control at elevated levels.
Amazon is reportedly exploring a financing structure that could move approximately $8 billion of Nvidia chips into a special-purpose vehicle funded by outside investors. This structure would issue debt and sell as much as a 10% equity stake to external investors, effectively creating a more asset-light approach to financing part of its rapidly expanding infrastructure.
Barclays analyst Tom O'Malley has identified substantial additional revenue potential for Nvidia from the five largest cloud providers. The bank estimates that Nvidia could capture at least $30 billion of additional revenue across 2026 and 2027, assuming continued capital spending by major cloud companies.
