Nvidia Surpasses Apple as World's Largest Company

Nvidia and Apple are the two largest companies in the world by market capitalization. Nvidia has a valuation of around $5.4 trillion, while Apple's is at just under $5 trillion.

While it may seem like a small difference, Mastercard, which has a market cap of around $500 billion, would need to contribute an additional equivalent to its business for Apple to catch up with Nvidia in size.

Nvidia's growth rate is significantly higher than Apple's. In its most recent quarter, Nvidia's revenue grew at a 106% year-over-year pace to $96.2 billion, while Apple's grew at a 16% year-over-year pace to $109 billion.

The reason behind Nvidia's impressive growth is the increasing demand for semiconductor GPUs, which are used in artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing applications.
