Nvidia to Acquire Hugging Face for $12.93 Billion
Nvidia has agreed to buy Hugging Face, a popular artificial intelligence software platform, for $12.93 billion.
Hugging Face provides tools for developers, researchers, and creators to share models, data sets, and applications, with over 18 million users and more than 200,000 companies relying on the platform.
The acquisition comes after a series of high-profile AI-related security breaches, including incidents involving ChatGPT maker OpenAI and Meta's AI model accessing the internet on its own.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that Hugging Face will remain an open source platform, allowing developers to choose their preferred models, frameworks, clouds, and computing platforms.
