Nvidia has announced the launch of Alpamayo 2 Super, an open reasoning model designed for autonomous driving. The model can see road environments, understand and reason through complex scenarios, and think before taking action.

According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, the next stage of AI development will expand from software intelligence into robotics, with autonomous vehicles serving as an important entry point to the robot era.

Huang said that Alpamayo 2 Super can be used as a core AI model for various applications, including robotaxis, autonomous trucks, shuttle vehicles, delivery vehicles, agricultural robots, and future large-scale mobile robot systems.

Nvidia is releasing the model under the OpenMDW-1.1 license, allowing developers to research, fine-tune, and deploy it. Huang emphasized that open models can help improve the safety and reliability of autonomous driving systems.
