Nvidia's AI Financing Push Tops $500 Billion with Wall Street Deal
Nvidia has secured memorandums of understanding with six Wall Street firms - Apollo Global Management, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, and KKR - to build financing platforms for AI data centers. This move aims to provide customers with access to debt and other financing options for AI infrastructure instead of requiring them to pay the full cost upfront.
The deal is worth over $500 billion in potential capital mobilized by the Wall Street firms, which will work together to create compute financing platforms. Nvidia won't be writing a single check, but rather facilitating the flow of third-party capital to customers.
This shift redefines how AI data centers are funded. A rack of GPUs is no longer just equipment; it becomes collateral that financiers can lend against and refinance, packaging it into a return stream for investors.
