Nvidia's Data Center Dominance: A 92% Revenue Share
Nvidia's data center sales have become the driving force behind its revenue growth. The company reported $81.6 billion in total revenue for its fiscal first quarter of 2027, with a staggering 92% of that coming from data centers.
This shift is largely due to the growing demand for AI infrastructure spending. According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, this is just the beginning of the AI build-out and the semiconductor industry needs to grow tenfold to meet the increasing demand.
Huang's prediction is ambitious, with a projected growth rate of 26% annually over the next decade. While this may seem lofty, Nvidia's revenue has consistently been growing, up 85% year-over-year in its fiscal Q1 2027.
However, there are concerns about Nvidia's reliance on data center spending and customer concentration. Three direct customers account for 54% of the company's revenue, making it vulnerable to a potential slowdown or pullback from these customers.
