Ohio City Unveils Tool-Sharing Program Ahead of Oktoberfest

A community cleanup initiative in Ohio City has kicked off a new tool-sharing program ahead of this weekend's Oktoberfest celebrations.

The clean-up effort, led by volunteers and Ohio City Incorporated, focused on Market Square Park and aimed to tackle persistent litter issues.

Organizers, including Mia Basit Hightower, volunteer coordinator with Ohio City Inc., emphasized that revitalizing public spaces is crucial for strengthening community pride and activating parks as vibrant public areas.

The new tool library, made possible by a $5,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation, will allow residents to borrow equipment instead of buying it. The funds will be used to purchase rakes, shovels, and power tools that neighbors can check out for local cleanups or personal home repairs.
