Ohio Mobile ID Now Available in Google Wallet

Ohioans with Android devices can now access their digital IDs through Google Wallet. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) announced that Ohio Mobile ID is available in Google Wallet, following a similar offering for Apple Wallet in 2024.

To add an Ohio Mobile ID to Google Wallet, users must open the app or download it from Google Play and select 'Add to Wallet.' They will then choose 'ID Card,' select 'Ohio,' and follow the verification prompts.

The BMV notes that digital IDs can be used to verify age or identity at select businesses and venues across the state. They are also accepted in many state buildings, at all TSA checkpoints nationwide, and at Ohio casinos.

While digital IDs provide convenience, the BMV advises people with them to continue carrying their physical credentials.
