Ohio residents can now add their driver's licenses and state IDs to Google Wallet, expanding the Ohio Mobile ID program. The new feature allows Android users to digitally store their identification cards, which can be presented at participating businesses, venues, and government buildings nationwide.

The digital IDs are encrypted on the device and protected through personal authentication, ensuring security and privacy for users. If a phone is lost or stolen, its digital ID can be removed using remote data-erasure features.

According to Gov. Mike DeWine, the Ohio Mobile ID in Google Wallet is 'the latest in a long line of new features that save time and make it more convenient for Ohioans to interact with the BMV.'
