Old North State Trust Buys New Stake in Walt Disney
Old North State Trust LLC has acquired a new stake in The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS), according to its latest Form 13F filing. In the second quarter, the institutional investor purchased approximately 4,729 shares of Disney's stock, valued at around $455,000.
This is not an isolated incident; several other hedge funds and institutions have increased their stakes in Disney during recent quarters. Advisors Management Group Inc. ADV boosted its stake by 4.6% in the first quarter, while Providence Wealth Advisors LLC grew its position by 1.1%. Guardian Partners Inc. raised its stake by 0.3%, and Convergence Financial LLC lifted its holdings by 3.3%.
Disney's Experiences segment generated approximately $3 billion in quarterly operating profit, with theme parks and cruise lines offsetting mixed performance elsewhere. The company has also announced new projects, including a Lakeshore Lodge near the Magic Kingdom set to open in July 2027, and fall 2027 and spring 2028 sailings for Disney Cruise Line.
