OpenAI Challenges Microsoft with Collaborative Office Tools for ChatGPT

OpenAI has expanded its capabilities in the competitive office software market by adding collaborative tools to ChatGPT. The company announced the new features at a developer conference in San Francisco, challenging Microsoft's dominance in this space.

The main innovation is Space, a shared workspace within ChatGPT where colleagues can work with the chatbot and files together. Users can set instructions for tasks such as checking team channels and updating content based on the materials provided.

OpenAI has also introduced Pages, a text editor designed for collaboration between humans and AI agents. This feature is similar to Google Docs and Microsoft Word.

Another new tool is collaborative slide creation, allowing users to describe their idea in ChatGPT, which can then be edited by colleagues and agents with the ability to leave comments. This feature is reminiscent of Microsoft PowerPoint.
