OurCrowd Scores Big with BioCatch Exit
Israeli venture capital fund OurCrowd has reportedly earned $200 million from the sale of its shares in BioCatch, following Visa's acquisition of the cybersecurity company. This is believed to be one of the most profitable exits for OurCrowd, with an estimated return of around seven times on its investment.
BioCatch was valued at $1.3 billion after a private equity deal with Permira in 2024, but Visa's acquisition has taken that valuation to $2.4 billion, a significant increase in just two years.
The sale has also yielded a substantial profit for some qualified investors who participated in the funding rounds, with estimates suggesting they may have earned up to twenty times their investment. OurCrowd's business model allows it to recruit thousands of qualified investors for fundraising rounds, which differentiates it from traditional venture capital funds.
