P&G Lands Thorne in $3.8B Wellness Expansion
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has opened its black bear hunting lottery for this year's hunt. The lottery will remain open until August 28, and the actual hunt is scheduled to take place from December 5-20 across all Louisiana black bear management areas. A total of 42 permits will be issued through the lottery, with allocations based on current bear population data, plus one additional secretary's permit auction.
The successful applicants must complete a bear hunter training course before hunting and have a valid black bear hunting license. The application fee is $50, non-refundable. It's worth noting that bear populations are an important consideration for wildlife conservation efforts.
In other news, the US job market saw a slight decline in June with 7.36 million job openings compared to May's 7.54 million. Layoffs remained steady while hiring and voluntary quits increased slightly. The economic outlook remains cautiously optimistic, with employers adding an average of 92,000 jobs per month this year.
Procter & Gamble has announced its acquisition of Thorne, a supplement maker, for $3.8 billion. This move aims to strengthen P&G's health and wellness business by adding the fast-growing brand Thorne, which generated over $500 million in revenue last year.
