Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Boeing Global President Dr. Brendan Nelson in New York to discuss Pakistan International Airlines' (PIA) plans to modernize its fleet.

Aurangzeb sought financing routes and explored the possibility of securing earlier delivery slots for new jets, as well as arranging interim leases to bridge the gap until they arrive.

The airline is examining financing options, including support from the US Export-Import Bank, to fund its expansion goals. PIA plans to grow its international footprint through a combination of fleet renewal and private participation in airport operations.
