Pakistani Carer Jailed for Raping Elderly Woman on Student Visa
A Pakistani carer has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping a bedbound elderly woman, whom he claimed had assaulted him.
Fazli Qadeer, 25, from Peshawar, was working as a carer on a student visa in the UK. He joined his brother in Bristol for university and took up the job to earn money.
The victim, who is in her seventies, was described as 'extremely vulnerable' by the court. Qadeer climbed onto her bed, kissed her on the lips, touched her breasts, and subjected her to a sustained sexual assault, including oral rape.
After his arrest, Qadeer denied raping the woman and tried to convince jurors that she had actually assaulted him. However, he was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
