Pat McAfee's College GameDay Kicking Challenge Misses Mark Again

Pat McAfee's College GameDay kicking challenge continues to offer high-stakes prizes for students. In Baton Rouge, LSU freshman Bruce missed two field goal attempts from 33 yards out, leaving a life-changing $1 million prize unclaimed.

The contest was part of the 500th road broadcast of College GameDay, which began its 40th season outside Louisiana State University's campus quad. McAfee offered $500,000 of his own money for a successful kick, and Home Depot matched it, raising the total prize to $1 million.

Since introducing the feature in his second season as a permanent analyst, McAfee has personally put over $6 million into student prizes and charitable donations at university campuses across the US. The segment's tradition of giving contestants a second chance was upheld when McAfee offered Bruce a mulligan for the full $1 million prize.

Despite missing both attempts, Bruce received encouragement from McAfee, who posted a video on X with the caption: 'NO GOOD AGAIN GOOD EFFORT BRUCE.'

The live kicking challenge has become one of College GameDay's most popular segments. Past winners include Washington student Greyson Wilhelm and Georgia students Henry Silver and Belle Sessions, who shared a $400,000 prize in 2024.
