Permira Bolsters Tech Team with Microsoft Veteran Julia Liuson

Permira has strengthened its technology team with the appointment of Julia Liuson as a senior adviser. Ms. Liuson, who spent over three decades at Microsoft, was president of the company's Developer Division. Her role included overseeing the global developer business covering programming languages, development tools, Azure developer services, and GitHub.

In her new position at Permira, Ms. Liuson will work with portfolio company management on AI adoption and product development, as well as contribute to diligence on product-driven software businesses. Michail Zekkos, a partner and co-head of technology at Permira, praised Ms. Liuson's expertise in AI-native software engineering disciplines.

Permira's technology holdings generate over $800 million in AI-native annual recurring revenue, growing more than 100% year on year. This is why the appointment of Ms. Liuson follows that of Mike Hoffman as a partner in June 2026.
