Pinterest Stock Dips After Naming Amazon Executive as New CFO
Pinterest Inc shares dropped nearly 2% in after-hours trading on Monday following the company's announcement of James Dibbo as its new Chief Financial Officer. Dibbo, an Amazon veteran, will take over the role on October 26, 2026.
Dibbo joins Pinterest from Amazon, where he served as Vice President and CFO for Global Entertainment, Advertising and Corporate Development. His responsibilities included managing finance for Amazon Ads, Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Music, Audible, and Twitch.
During his decade-long tenure at Amazon, Dibbo also held key positions such as CFO of Worldwide Consumer and CFO of North America Consumer. Prior to Amazon, he worked as CFO of P.F. Chang’s and held senior finance roles at Tesco and BT Group.
Bill Ready, Pinterest's CEO, praised Dibbo, calling him 'an exceptional finance leader' with the strategic and operational skills needed to benefit Pinterest in its next chapter. Dibbo will report directly to Ready and oversee the company’s global finance organization.
Dibbo succeeds Julia Brau Donnelly, who will step down as CFO on October 26, 2026 but will remain as an advisor through October 30, 2026 to ensure a smooth transition. Dibbo holds a B.S. in Economics from Cardiff University and is a Chartered Accountant.
