Pixel Phones Get Offline Language Breakthrough with Google's Live Translate

Google's highly touted Live Translate tool is getting an important upgrade that will allow it to work offline. The feature, which is still in its early stages, has the potential to break down language barriers by automatically translating spoken words from one language to another.

The catch? This new offline mode only works between English and 11 other languages - French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Russian, and Swedish. That means users won't be able to get live translations in languages like Chinese or Korean just yet.

Another limitation is that this feature will only work on Google Pixel 11, Pixel 10, and Pixel 9 series phones for now. That leaves out a lot of other Android devices, including those from Samsung and older Pixel models.
