Poughkeepsie Couple Caught Stealing from Home Depot with Fentanyl and Crack

A Poughkeepsie couple was arrested in connection with theft and possession of controlled substances after being caught stealing merchandise from a Home Depot store.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Home Depot location at 80 Independent Way in the Town of Southeast.

According to investigators, officers noticed Dennis M. Bussanich and Karleen Carter placing stolen goods into their vehicle, after which they spotted drug paraphernalia inside the car.

Both individuals were taken into custody and face charges including two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of conspiracy. Bussanich also faces additional charges for grand larceny and false personation.
