Qatar Airways has taken the lead in innovation by becoming the first airline to operate a Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9. The carrier now boasts an impressive fleet of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft, with 150 planes equipped with the technology. This achievement comes after Qatar completed the rollout of Starlink across its Boeing 787-8 sub-fleet in just seven months.

The airline's commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation has paid off, as passengers can now enjoy high-speed internet on flights with speeds of up to 500 Mbps. With a total of 323 Starlink-flights operating daily, over 23 million passengers have connected to Starlink onboard Qatar Airways since October 2024.

The airline is continuing its efforts to equip the rest of its Boeing 787 fleet with Starlink by the end of 2026, with the program already surpassing 83% completion. This achievement builds on the carrier's record-breaking completion of the Boeing 777 program in nine months and the Airbus A350 fleet within eight months in December 2025.
