Qatar Eyes Up to Four Boeing KC-46A Tankers in $4.5 Billion Deal
The U.S. State Department has approved a possible sale of up to four Boeing KC-46A Pegasus tankers to Qatar, valued at a maximum of $4.5 billion.
The proposed package includes spare parts, training, and logistics support, as well as eight PW4062 turbofan engines and 15 Guardian Laser Transmitter Assemblies for Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure systems.
Qatar has been expanding its military aviation fleet in recent years, with purchases including Dassault Rafale, Boeing F-15QA Eagle, and Eurofighter combat aircraft, as well as transport planes like the C-17 Globemaster III and C-130J Super Hercules.
