Qatar Seeks $4.5 Billion Boeing Tanker Deal Amid Growing Combat Aviation Fleet
The U.S. State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Qatar valued at up to $4.5 billion, including aircraft, equipment, training and logistics support.
Qatar is seeking four Boeing KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling aircraft to add an aerial refueling capability to its growing combat aviation fleet.
The proposed package includes the tankers, engines, defensive systems, spare parts, training and long-term logistics support. It also includes missile warning sensors, cryptographic equipment, Identification Friend or Foe systems, precision navigation equipment and electronic warfare database support.
