Qualcomm Stock Rises on Extended Apple Licensing Deal
Qualcomm stock has risen by 1.53 percent to $184.87 on the Nasdaq as of October 2, 2026, following an announcement that its licensing deal with Apple will extend into 2027.
The agreement, which was set to expire in April 2027, will continue to provide Qualcomm with a significant revenue stream estimated to be between $1.5 billion and $1.7 billion annually by Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon.
Qualcomm's quarterly revenue has reached $9.95 billion, beating estimates but still declining 4.0 percent year over year, while reported earnings per share (EPS) of $2.21 missed the consensus by $0.02.
The company is balancing its licensing stream with pressure to diversify beyond handset chips, as seen in its new smartphone silicon designed for agentic artificial intelligence in phones, glasses, and earbuds presented at the Snapdragon Summit on September 22-24, 2026.
