Quorum Cyber Buys Ontinue for Agentic Security Operations Platform

Quorum Cyber has agreed to acquire Ontinue, a managed extended detection and response (MXDR) provider, to build a Microsoft-focused cybersecurity platform centered around agentic AI and 24/7 security operations. The combined company will offer a broader approach spanning secure AI adoption, proactive risk reduction, continuous threat detection, incident response, and recovery.

The deal aims to create an integrated operating model where Microsoft security technologies work together with AI agents and human defenders to reduce the operational burden on security teams while shortening the path from detecting suspicious activity to making a decision and taking action.

Ontinue's Agentic SOC platform is central to this strategy, allowing AI agents to investigate, decide, and act within customer-defined guardrails while keeping security professionals in control of risk and accountability. The combined organization will help customers deploy and operate Microsoft products including Sentinel, Defender XDR, Azure, Entra, Purview, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Security Copilot.
