Rahman Seeks Boost from Chevron in Bangladesh Gas Sector

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with a high-level Chevron delegation to discuss increased investment in Bangladesh's energy sector, particularly in exploring new gas fields and reviving existing ones. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Adviser on Finance and Planning Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, State Minister for Power and Energy Aninda Islam Amit, and Chevron Bangladesh President Shu Xiong.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening energy security and meeting growing demand in the country. He sought increased investment from Chevron to explore new gas fields alongside existing ones. The delegation was led by Javier La Rosa, President of Base Assets and Emerging Countries (BAEC).
